In 2018, Microsoft wanted to wish their partners and clients a special New Year’s greeting – something fun yet tech-savvy.

Challenge

We proposed using AR to add a touch of magic, New Year’s wonder, and wow-effect to the greeting.

Solution

Greeting Cards

New Year’s is all about the festive atmosphere: joyful children, gifts, fireworks, a Christmas tree, and of course, the jolly old man speeding through the city in his sleigh.

To fully immerse in the holiday spirit, you’ll need just two items: a Microsoft greeting card and our mobile app.

If the holiday mail didn’t arrive in time and the recipient didn’t get the card, no worries – our AR magic could still be experienced on our special holiday website.

Cake with a Delicious Image

Microsoft took it further and created a whole AR cake based on our greeting cards.

The image on the cake, exactly replicating the one on the card, was printed on an edible base using a special printer. Thanks to the technology, it was clear enough for the app to work seamlessly.
