UTECH is a top producer of engineering solutions for large-scale construction and industrial projects.
JetStyle has developed Dream Booth XR, an XR tool used for tradeshows and immersive demos. In Dream Booth XR, your prospect interacts with your product in the virtual reality; you cut on organization costs as you don’t need to set up a full-size booth at events. After the trade shows, you use Dream Booth XR as an immersive sales tool. Read more about the product:
Since 2023, UTECH has been using Dream Booth XR in their tradeshow activity and for demos, and JetStyle has been maintaining the product and adapting it to UTECH’s needs.
Challenge
Another challenge is related to the sales process. While UTECH’s sales managers had extensive knowledge and expertise, they struggled with visualizing the benefits of the products. They needed a solution that could both engage clients during trade shows and help their sales team better communicate the brand’s value and scope.
UTECH had a unique challenge: their engineering products are top-quality and highly specific, but quite often they are nearly impossible to display in a traditional trade show setting.A showroom would need to accommodate numerous construction variants, which would make it the size of an industrial warehouse.
UTECH’s Dream booth includes various interactive features. For instance, one of the key highlights is a virtual model of a concrete wall with multiple mounting systems. When a client interacts with the model, they can see different installation options for each type of mounting system. As they click through the options, the system dynamically displays various facade attachment methods, such as brick cladding, concrete panels, and metal plates. This gives an in-depth look at how UTECH's products could be customized and adapted to different construction needs.
The booth allows clients to virtually "step inside" the model. For example, when they view the roof structure, clients can zoom in on specific components, e.g. the metal beams and ventilation systems. As they interact with the structure, they can unlock an "exploded view" of the components and see how each piece fits into the overall system.
How we launched Dream Booth XR
Hardware
After testing different models, we chose the Meta Quest 3 and Pico 4 Ultra headsets, both offering a high-quality mixed reality experience.
3D Modeling
We started with preparing content: UTECH provided us with the 3D models of their products. We needed to create maximum realism, so we optimized them for better performance, added textures, materials, and finer details.* If you don’t have 3D models of your products, we can develop them from scratch
Network Requirements
The initial setup requires internet connection to download the necessary scenes and configurations for the booth. Once the content is downloaded, you can go offline. This is a killer feature for trade show participation: you don’t need to rely on internet access.
Timelines
The first key scene was ready within just 2 months, and UTECH presented it at the trade show. It was a huge success!
Support & Maintenance
We have been supporting UTECH all the way through the development and implementation of the Dream Booth XR. In case of any troubles with the platform or the hardware, we’re here to deal with it as quickly as possible. The core value of the Dream Booth XR is its ease of use. Once your prospect puts the headset on, they admire the product and enjoy the immersive experience, with zero onboarding needed.
Let’s discuss how much it takes to launch your Dream Booth XR
The launch of the Dream Booth XR had a tangible impact on UTECH’s sales and client engagement. The team told us that after showcasing the products at a tradeshow, they managed to sell the stock items that had been sitting in inventory for several years.
What’s Coming Next
Together with UTECH and other users of Dream Booth XR, we fine tune its features and outline plans for its future development.
Multiplayer mode
This would allow a sales representative from one location to connect with a client at another, virtually sharing the same experience in real time. This feature would support remote sales demonstrations and add a level of interactivity that enhances the booth's potential.
Hand tracking
Future updates will allow users to reach for a tool in the virtual space and virtually "pick it up". The booth will be used to create a deeper connection with clients.
