RBT.ru is a Russian regional chain of electronics and home appliances stores. The RBT.ru online store has branch offices in 40 cities throughout Russia.
The task
Redesign of the existing RBT.ru home appliances online store, making it more convenient and user-friendly, and creating a new modern design with adapted versions for tablets and smartphones.
Workflow
The previous design of the RBT.ru online store was outdated; there was a need for new and modern interface solutions. The customer approached us with a request to redesign the website.
Redisign
We obtained the list of key pages to be redesigned from the customer, figured out the specifics of operations of this particular store; we prepared prototypes for the website’s desktop version and thought through the interface for mobile devices.
Landing pade
We designed the landing page for special offers connected with newly opened stores in different cities.
Before a new store opens, the customer starts an advertising campaign on the radio, TV and on the Internet, posting links to this page.
The landing page attracts new customers, explains the details of the special offer to the buyer step by step and guides them to a desired action: a visit to a new store.
The landing page content may be changed for new stores opening in different cities.
Customer’s opinion: “The advertising campaign went great! We are pleased with the result. The number of people who activated their promo code from the landing page you created is higher than in the cities where we used the old landing page. Now we prefer to use the new one!”
Website features
Product CardContains information about the product, current special offers and gifts received upon purchase, as well as a variety of accessories. These may be viewed as a complete list or filtered by categories.
Store Map
Allows checking the earliest possible delivery date and availability at pick-up points without going to the Shipment & Delivery section: a new window showing the stores appears right on the product card. The buyer can select the pick-up point when they add a product to the cart and avoid having to choose a delivery method again at check out: the system will suggest it automatically.
Associated Products
After the buyer adds the product to the cart, the website suggests associated products in a pop-up window.
Products that are out of Stock
If the product is out of stock, it still remains in the catalogue, keeping the card page in search engines’ index and bringing customers to the website. In such cases the photo in the description is shown smaller, while a block with similar products in stock occupies most of the page.
Special Offers Section
Every page of currently available special offers contains a description of offer and a list of goods the offers apply to.
Additional Services
During checkout, the website suggests adding some services and the store’s special warranty to the order: RBT.ru installs and repairs the customers’ home appliances even if they were purchased from another vendor. A website visitor can find information on additional services in the Help section at any time.
Delivery Method
The customer selects one of three delivery methods for their order: delivery to a specified address, self-pickup or a combined method. For example, a fridge can be delivered to the apartment, while a microwave oven or a hair dryer can be sent to the nearest store.
Results
We handed the finished website templates over to the customer’s staff for HTML-coding and programming. Advertising campaigns with the new landing page have proven to be highly effective. After the new website version will have been launched, the process of purchasing home appliances will become simpler and more fun, even on tablets and smartphones.
