Porgs on board! A new app with augmented reality from JetStyle

Today we decided to show you one of our favourite AR projects. 

To celebrate the premiere of the highly anticipated next chapter in the Skywalker saga – Star Wars: The Last Jedi in Russia, we’ve teamed up with Yandex.Taxi and developed a very special app with augmented reality. Thanks to this AR app with face tracking technology, passengers of Yandex.Taxi could take a ride with porgs – the cutest characters of the film. Here is how it worked.

Starting from December 9, special taxis with our AR app installed on 80 tablets, were cruising in four cities of Russia - Moscow, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, and Novosibirsk. The passengers of these taxis could take selfies with the new, never-seen-before characters of the Star Wars Saga – the porgs, prior to the premiere and share these unique photos on their social media.
